MEP Contractor client is seeking an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their Commercial Team within the Caribbean. This is a long term opportunity and will suit a professional who is ideally degree educated (Quantity Surveying or Construction biased) and has at least 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the MEP contracting sector. My client operates within the Luxury Residential, Hotel/Resort, Commercial and Retail sectors.


Key Duties (but not limited to):

  • Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
  • Coordination of work effort
  • Valuing completed work and arranging for payments
  • Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs.


Skills/Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Degree educated within Quantity Surveying or Construction
  • At least 5 years’ experience within the Electrical field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor
  • Good knowledge of construction
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good financial and numeracy management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Methodical way of thinking
  • The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • Computer literate
  • A clear understanding of HSE building regulations and legal guidelines.

CPMCOMM - Construction Project Manager - Caribbean

Due to a recently secured Commercial Office contract my client is seeking to hire an experienced Construction Project Manager who is both contractually focused, as well as hands-on.


To be considered, you will have:

  • At least 10 years’ experience of working in a Project Manager capacity from within a Principle Contractor background
  • Degree qualified within Civil Engineering
  • Prior/current Caribbean project experience (Pre-requisite)
  • A Civil Engineer background
  • A career history that demonstrates a stable work history and exposure to Commercial Offices, High-end Residential and Hospitality.
  • A Hands-on approach, with a strong client liaison focus.
  • Experience in large RC Frame structures
  • Experience in Soldier Piling (Pre-requisite)


Duties (but not limited to):

  • Manage and monitor both in-house staff and subcontractors engaged on the project
  • Ensure all HSEQ Procedures are followed
  • Project Scheduling
  • Material/Labour supply and Logistical lead-ins

My client is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Health & Safety Officer.  The successful candidate will be a vital contributor for the construction team to sustain a safe environment to avoid and minimize safety and environmental related problems – prevention of human injury, environmental degradation and unsafe working conditions/practices.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare Health & Safety plans
  • Perform detailed safety inspections, provide recommendations and coordinate inspection activities for projects
  • Develop, customize and supervise safety programs, including project site-based safety orientations
  • Conduct job hazard analysis
  • Give Toolbox Talks
  • Manage training within the company and enforce safety guidelines
  • Provide guidance, assistance and advice to inspectors, project managers, sub-contractors through interpretations of safety practices and procedures
  • Carry out accident investigations and complete reports
  • Work with site managers to ensure satisfactory outcomes
  • Inspect and manage sub-contractor documents and equipment.


Qualifications, Abilities & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Health & Safety Officer
  • Preference will be shown to those who have IOSH and/or NEBOSH accreditations
  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong presentation skills including public speaking
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lead, learn and apply knowledge of local statues and guidelines
  • A valid driver’s license.

My client is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join their dynamic Construction Team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager and be responsible for completing high-end Residential (Condominiums) and Commercial projects.


General Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years in Project Management and Site Supervision
  • Strong managerial, leadership and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of moderate scope and complexity within the required timeline
  • Ability to manage in-house crews and subcontractors
  • Ability to resource and organize material scheduling
  • Ensures attention to Safety procedures and policies and Quality Assurance
  • Demonstrate competent computer skills, experience using MS Project
  • Sound knowledge of submittals, RFI’s, drawings, change orders, punch lists and closeouts
  • Clean police record and valid driver’s license
  • Current/former experience of delivering projects in the Caribbean.
