Who my client is seeking:

The ideal candidate is one who has been brought up in the Millwork Trade and has 5 years’ experience as a Production Manager, as well as:

  • Experience in Running a Millwork Shop
  • Possessing full understanding of different Drafting software
  • Experience in Managing a Drafting Team
  • Experience in Running best practices with CNC machines
  • Experience in running a Custom Paint Department
  • Experience in installing High-End Custom Cabinetry
  • Required to develop production schedules for area of responsibility, coordinate activity with other areas and forecasts inventory requirements.
  • Required to monitor financials for area of responsibility and initiate corrective action as required.
  • Required to analyze production operations and workflow and develop improvement recommendations.
  • Bilingual language skills – English/Spanish would be highly advantageous but not a pre-requisite.

As a Millwork Project Manager you will be responsible for the following:

  • Collaborating with clients to develop and deliver exceptional custom joinery services
  • Conduct final measures and schedule implementations and closeouts
  • Partner with Clients while ensuring the project is delivered on time within the prescribed budget
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with contractors, vendors and internal staff to deliver quality joinery products.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Millwork installation Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering projects within the Luxury Residential market – is a prerequisite.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects
  • Experience in managing projects in a rapidly growing organization is critical
  • Proven experience managing others is highly desirable
  • Preferred: Degree in a related field
  • Experienced in AutoCAD is a necessity, with some experience in both Kitchen and Cabinet Design being highly advantageous.

AIRPM1 - Project Manager - Airport - Caribbean

Contractor based organization is seeking to hire a Project Manager to take the lead on a $100m+ Airport redevelopment within the Caribbean.

 

Position Overview:   

The Project Manager shall be fully responsible for the project and must therefore have a thorough understanding of the project requirements. The incumbent will be accountable for project delivery in accordance with the project schedule and must, therefore, ensure completion within the specific time frame and within budget.

 

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • BSc. Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Ideally 15-20 years’ of management experience within the construction/civil engineering industry, with at least 10 years’ experience as a Lead Project Manager, specifically with international experience on Airport projects – both Terminal build and Infrastructure works.
  • A strong demonstrable background of working within a Principle Contractor environment.
  • Flexible with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Analytical, quick thinker that works well under pressure.

 

Key Accountabilities (but not limited to):

  • Develops, updates and implements the Project Management plan including, but not limited to construction, project control, contract administration, cost control, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Manages the project and project staff, including all subcontractors.
  • Reviews, approves and takes charge of the project schedules.
  • Organizes and chairs coordination meetings with superintendents, supervisors and subcontractors on a regular basis, particularly when there are major upcoming work activities and conflicts or delays affecting the works.
  • Plans with the Superintendent the project specific needs and coordinate and ensure timely delivery of people, equipment and materials.
  • Leads project team at weekly progress, QA/QC, safety and project administration meetings with the Employer and Engineer.
  • Reviews and approves all daily labor, production, equipment reports to be submitted to office in accordance with the procedure.
  • Ensures the accurate record keeping on the project.
  • Responsibility for overall project safety, including periodically attending weekly tool box safety meetings.
  • Coordinate with engineers, owners and QC and Survey on a regular basis.
  • Follow and ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures.
  • The liaison point to the Government Agencies.

CM5 - Construction Manager - Caribbean

My client is seeking to strengthen its team with additional Construction Managers for operational oversight on single to multiple Commercial construction projects ranging in value from US$10m-30m.

 

To be considered, you will have:

  • You will be degree qualified within Construction or Civil Engineering
  • At least 10 years’ experience of working in a Construction Manager capacity
  • A solid background in taking a project out of the ground through to finishes (highly advantageous)
  • Prior/current Caribbean project experiences (advantageous)
  • A career history that demonstrates stability within a large national main contracting arena delivering Commercially focused projects of values between US$10-30m
  • Experience in RC Frame packages within a Commercial Construction environment.

 

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Operational oversight for single or multiple project sites within the Caribbean region
  • Manage and monitor both in-house staff and subcontractors
  • Ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are followed
  • Deliver the project safely within programme and budget
  • Liaise with client and designers
  • Attend progress meetings and record and report directly to a Senior Management
  • Be responsible for achieving high standards of quality and workmanship on site
  • Travel between the 'live' project locations.

My client is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Health & Safety Officer.  The successful candidate will be a vital contributor for the construction team to sustain a safe environment to avoid and minimize safety and environmental related problems – prevention of human injury, environmental degradation and unsafe working conditions/practices.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare Health & Safety plans
  • Perform detailed safety inspections, provide recommendations and coordinate inspection activities for projects
  • Develop, customize and supervise safety programs, including project site-based safety orientations
  • Conduct job hazard analysis
  • Give Toolbox Talks
  • Manage training within the company and enforce safety guidelines
  • Provide guidance, assistance and advice to inspectors, project managers, sub-contractors through interpretations of safety practices and procedures
  • Carry out accident investigations and complete reports
  • Work with site managers to ensure satisfactory outcomes
  • Inspect and manage sub-contractor documents and equipment.

 

Qualifications, Abilities & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Health & Safety Officer
  • Preference will be shown to those who have IOSH and/or NEBOSH accreditations
  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong presentation skills including public speaking
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lead, learn and apply knowledge of local statues and guidelines
